We would like to introduce our new Accounts Payable Specialist, Karen Grode.

Karen joined Components Company about three months ago. In her new position, she works primarily in the office managing incoming invoices for payment and maintaining vendor information.

She comes to us with more than a decade of experience in the accounting field. Karen is a Wisconsin native who grew up in Watertown. She graduated from the Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC), which is just west of Milwaukee, Wis.

In order to introduce Karen properly, we asked her to take 10 minutes out of her day and answer some interview questions.

The Interview With Karen Grode

Q: What do you like about working at Components Company so far? 

Karen: I enjoy the camaraderie at CCI.

Q: You’ve been in accounting for a decade. What do you like about accounting? 

Karen: I love numbers. What I like most about accounting (Accounts Payable) though is, even despite the fact that you are doing the “same thing” every day, it is never the “same thing” every day. I also enjoy digging into issues and problem solving.

Q: What was your dream job as a child? 

Karen: I wanted to be a teacher.

Q: What made you pick accounting?

Karen: I picked accounting because I loved math in high school.

Q: Since you must like working with numbers, what’s your favorite number and why?  

Karen: My favorite number is 9 because it’s square, lol.
