It may seem obvious why Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety suits and masks, is important today. Yes, safety suits and masks can protect you from harmful bacteria and viruses. But we at Components Company have had safety suits as part of our kitting, bagging and packaging business for years.

While safety suits and other PPE are important to the health care industry, there are many other industries that use them in the workplace. Below are some examples.

• Chemicals: There are companies that deal with chemicals that can cause harm by either inhaling them or coming into contact with them through the skin or eyes. Workers in these situations are required to wear safety suits, goggles, masks and/or gloves.
• Corrosives: Likewise, companies who have workers coming into contact with corrosives such as acid usually wear PPE.
• Extreme heat or cold: Some safety suits are designed to protect people who work in extreme temperatures.
• Injury: If someone works in a hazardous area, either in a facility or outdoors, a safety suit could help prevent an injury.
